Using information systems to achieve complementarity in SME innovation networks

A research article on how Information Systems (IS) can be used to achieve fit between partners of innovation networks has appeared in the Information & Management journal. The article was written by myself and co-author Associate Professor Lakshmi Goel, PhD, from University of North Florida. It presents results of the European research project SmartNets.
Within dynamic innovation networks of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), complementarity between innovation partners is central to extend firm-level resources and capabilities and create synergies at the network level. We oer a conceptual model of how complementarity in SME innovation networks can be supported with the help of interorganizational systems.
